Practical tips for your gulet cruise

Before you leave:

  • Pack a soft bag. Although your cabin is comfortable a hard-shelled suitcase takes up a lot of space.
  • No need to take a beach towel. We have a selection ready for you on board.
  • Dress code is (very) casual.
  • For the men: many t-shirts, shorts and slacks.
  • For the women: Wraps and/or kaftans are useful garments to have. There may not be a dress code for meals, but as you are being served by Turkish men, it is polite to cover up.
  • Take as much swimwear with you as you can.
  • You don't wear any shoes on board so a pair of sandals, when you go ashore, will do.
  • A warm top or a jogging suit just in case of a chilly night.
  • Bring a hat.
  • Bring a beach bag. It's easy to have all your belongings for your day on deck at hand.
  • Toiletries: take sufficient sun-cream and after-sun, on top of normal day-to-day requirements.
  • Medic-kit: insect repellent is highly recommended.

 On board:

  • No shoes are worn on board. The crew will show you where you can store your footwear.
  • Listen carefully to the crew's safety briefing. In the highly unlikely event of a situation occurring, your safety is paramount
  • After a swim in the sea it's important to shower with fresh water; all our Gulets have sweet water showers on deck.
  • The reflection of sunlight off of sea water is particularly intense - the sea breeze whilst under sail will keep you deliciously cool, but UV expsosure will be intense - please wear suncream. We recommend that our guests start with a high factor for the first few days to give the skin a chance to aclimatise.
  • Please do not dispose of ANY litter overboard, your crew will make ample provision for litter disposal. Not only is it harmful for the environment and it's inhabitants, the Turkish authorities take a very dim view of any such activity and have been known to issue large fines.
